The 2016 Door County Half Marathon pace team will be led by experienced marathon pacer and Baileys Harbor resident Krista Eliot. Eliot has added a 2:20 pace team this year due to demand.
Eliot has paced for both the New Balance and Nike Pace teams for 10 years, which has included pacing the Chicago Marathon each year since 2005. A veteran of 36 marathons (including 12 Bostons), Eliot’s PR is 3:09.
Our team includes many runners who have paced the half marathon in the past, as well as Chicago, Fox Cities, Green Bay and many other major marathons and half marathons.
At the starting line the pacers will hold signs with finish goal times on them so runners can find their pace, slotting runners in a more organized fashion and avoiding confusion. This helps spread out runners at the start and alleviate the problem of slower runners lining up too close to the front of the pack and getting run over by faster runners behind them.
Here are the goal finish times and team members who will be there to help you from start to finish.
Meet some of our pacers at Packet Pickup at the Ephraim Village Hall Friday from 1 – 9 pm, and look for their signs on race day and use them to help you meat your race goal!
